OSHAWA -- The more the faces change, the more the results seem to stay the same for the Durham Fury.
Their most recent swap of players came late last weekend when they sent the rights to forward Chris Marchant, who hadn't been with the team for a couple of weeks, to the Bowmanville Eagles in exchange for forward Kristofer Faric.
It was the sixth trade general manager John Annis has made since the beginning of October.
Despite having the weekend to prepare, the Fury failed to show up for a pair of recent games with the Vaughan Vipers, losing 10-3 on Monday in Vaughan and 7-4 Tuesday night at the Campus Ice Centre.
In the 10-3 loss, it was the same old story for the Fury. A slow start, followed by a little penalty trouble and ultimately another excessive number of goals allowed.
Vaughan had jumped out to a 1-0 lead before the game was four minutes old and proceeded to add three more in the period and a pair in the second to take a 6-0 lead after 40 minutes.
The Fury then found themselves down 9-0 just six minutes into the third before Faric finally broke the shutout.
Rob Kay and Matt Gauld also scored goals in the period, while 13 different Vipers had at least one point, led by the six of Paul Rodrigues.
German Tsatsura allowed all 10 Vaughan goals on 56 shots.
Midway through Tuesday's game, after battling back from a three-goal deficit to tie the score, things appeared to be looking up for the Fury.
However, it didn't last long. In fact it was all of 11 seconds before Vaughan re-took the lead and never looked back.
Trevor McKinney, Tim Halloran, Gauld and Rob Kay provided the Fury goals, while Brandon Foote allowed all seven Vaughan markers in the Fury net.
After allowing 17 goals in the two contests, Durham's goals against average has increased to 5.59 heading into Sunday's game at North York. Their next home game is Tuesday against Toronto at 7:30 p.m.
