OSHAWA -- The Durham Fury experienced the good and bad while hitting the ice against a pair of teams from west Durham over the weekend.
Against the Pickering Panthers was the good, while against Ajax Attack, not so much.

Coming off a 6-2 triumph last Tuesday over the Dixie Beehives, the Fury jumped all over the basement-dwellling Panthers Saturday night at the Campus Ice Centre, scoring three times in the first and three more in the second to cruise to another 6-2 victory.

Rob Kay, who has struggled to find the net for the Fury this season, opened the scoring just 2:27 into the game on the power play, while Steven Koufis and Brett Eagleson each added tallies of their own prior to the midway point of the period.

With a 3-1 lead firmly in grip, the Fury jumped all over the visiting Panthers once again as captain Trevor McKinney scored two goals just 1:38 apart and Derek Foote added another to round out the scoring, while Brandon Foote made 24 saves.

Richard Duncan and Jamie McQueen provided the goal scoring for Pickering.

The following day, a trip to Ajax didn't prove to be quite as fruitful for the Fury.

The Attack opened the scoring early in the first on a Chris Gelencser goal and promptly scored four straight in the second period courtesy Jordan Ramsay, Kyle Ramsay, Adam Place and Ryan Marcuz and the Fury was never able to rebound in a 5-3 defeat.

Behn Robertson scored twice for the Fury while newcomer Tim Halloran scored the other.

Brandon Foote took the loss in net, facing 23 shots.

The Fury (6-15-5) was in action last night (after our deadline) playing host to the Markham Waxers (18-6-1).

FURY FILES: The Fury has traded defenceman Josh Ladouceur to the Cobourg Cougars... Allen Dillon, acquired from the Bowmanville Eagles for Chris Bain, has picked up two assists in his first three games. .
